Celebrating the New Year with God

a peaceful atmosphere by decorating the tables, which were set up in the shape of a cross, with pine garland and candlelight.

The Pastor began by reading a humorous poem about setting priorities on dieting after the holidays, and then tied it in to setting our spiritual priorities.  The Ordinance of Humility (foot washing), the Lord's Supper was observed, followed by a time of sharing

and giving thanks to God for what He has done during the past year.

The evening ended about 9:00p.m., giving everyone an opportunity to finish celebrating the new year with family and / or friends.

Many of those who attended said how special they felt it was to close the previous year and start a new one in communion with God.

The annual New Year's Eve Agape Supper presented a spiritual tone on which to begin the new millennium.  Around 30 people joined together in the Better Living Center to celebrate the New Year with a meal of fruit, sweet breads and juice followed by some words from the Pastor and Communion service.
